Jewelry Care
Here are a few tips to help your jewelry maintain its longevity.
Take off your jewelry during
-
Everyday activities such as exercising or swimming.
-
Washing dishes or using cleaning products.
-
Showering, applying lotions, sunscreen, makeup, or perfumes. Wait for your cosmetics to fully dry before putting on your jewelry.
-
Before bedtime to prevent unnecessary wear.
Storage and Cleaning Tips
-
Store your jewelry in a fabric-lined jewelry box in individual compartments or in a travel pouch. You can also lay pieces flat on a soft surface.
-
Clasp necklaces and chain bracelets before storing to prevent tangling—lay them flat or hang them.
-
Avoid ultrasonic cleaners for jewelry containing pearls or soft gemstones. Diamonds and sapphires are okay.
-
Check routinely for loose stones.
-
Avoid knocking or banging your jewelry against hard surfaces.
Cleaning your Jewelry
To gently clean your gold, platinum, or diamond jewelry at home:
-
Mix a few drops of mild dish soap and warm water in a small bowl or dish.
-
Let your jewelry soak for a few minutes.
-
Use a soft-bristle toothbrush to gently scrub.
-
Rinse thoroughly under warm water.
-
Lay it out to dry on a clean, soft cloth.
